 COVID-19 Modified Services Update


Due to the continued presence of COVID-19 cases in our area, Animal Services will be taking the steps below to protect the health and welfare of our staff, animals and the community.  

We ask that whether you visit our shelter or interact with a staff member in the field you maintain social distancing and wear a protective face covering over your mouth and nose at all times. Our staff will also be wearing protective face coverings and observing social distancing requirements during their interactions with the public.

SHELTER SERVICES

  1. Visits, adoptions and return to owners are being completed by appointment only Tuesday-Saturday 11:00AM-5:00PM (No more than three (3) people per appointment)
  2. We are not accepting healthy stray cats at this time, but will continue to accept owner surrenders as well as sick or injured stray cats by appointment. If you need assistance with cats in your neighborhood, please contact the rescue groups listed below.
  3. We will accept all stray and owner surrendered dogs by appointment.

If you are able to, please pay your license or fines by mail or phone. If you need to complete your transaction in person at the shelter, you must make an appointment.

FIELD SERVICES

1.    Animal Control Officers will continue to respond to calls for service which pose a hazard to the public, injured, and deceased animals as well as all other calls, including nuisance complaints. 

2.    If you have a stray dog and are comfortable bringing it to the shelter, please try and make an appointment first. If you are unable to bring the animal to the shelter, place a call for service. 

4.    Animal Control Officers will not impound any stray healthy cats.

5.    Residents are asked to cease all trapping activities.

Appointments will be available Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
