Georgeann "Gigi" Hanna is a native of Blue Mound, Illinois, who moved to California when she was 9 years old. The youngest of four children, she graduated from high school in Pasadena, received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Humboldt State University, and completed her graduate studies in communications at California State University Fullerton.

After spending 16 years as a reporter throughout the state, Gigi transitioned into public-agency communications positions. She is passionate about open and ethical government, experienced keeping records of public meetings and public agencies and is eager to use her 25 years of experience in communications to keep the San Bernardino City Clerk's office neutral, professional, technologically up to date and responsive to resident's needs.

She is married to Tony Barber, a glassblower and native of Fresno. She is a proud member of Rotary, and enjoys volunteering, travel, music and cooking.
