All routes begin at 6:00 a.m.. Set carts at curb by 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled service day and store carts out of public view that evening. Late set-outs are subject to a $28.75 charge for return service. -
Place carts in the street at least 18 inches apart, wheels to the curb, with lids closed. -
Place carts at least 3 feet from any obstruction such as a parked car, mailbox, fence, lamp post, or tree. -
DO NOT overload or over pack carts - do not place heavy or bulky items such as furniture, concrete, rocks or dirt in your curbside carts. -
DO NOT secure or weigh down carts on windy days. See Coping with Windy Weather. -
DO NOT mark your address on carts - these are City property. Each cart is hot-stamped with a unique ID number. If you wish to keep track of your carts, make a note of these ID numbers and the corresponding colors. -
DO NOT place household hazardous waste in any of the carts. BAG AND SEAL YOUR REFUSE IN THE BLACK CARTS to keep loose material from littering your yard and neighborhood. 2. Set out the blue and green carts for pick up on a windy day ONLY if absolutely full. DO NOT bag materials. 3. If your carts blow away, please look for them before calling for replacements. DO NOT mark your address on carts - these are City property. Single Family Residences & Mobile Home Parks with Green Waste Service The City provides ONE SERVICE UNIT for the monthly service rate of $22.84. Mobile Home Parks receiving automated green waste collection service The City provides ONE BLUE and ONE BLACK 96-gallon cart per residence for the monthly service rate of $15.24. Please click on the hyperlink above to learn more about proper disposal and the availability of free surplus household products. Special Assistance for Disabled Residents Residents unable to bring their carts out to the curb on service days and to return the carts when emptied, may request assistance. Carts must have through access from the outside of the residence; gates must be unlocked on service days from 6:00 a.m. until all carts are returned; and all animals must be properly restrained. Please submit a brief letter from a qualified medical professional stating that the resident is unable to move the automated carts to the curb and that there is no caregiver or other able-bodied individual available to perform this activity at this address or location. The letter must be on the physician's letterhead, and must include the resident's full name, service address, and phone number for proper verification. The request must be renewed on an annual basis in order to remain on the assistance program. Requests may be faxed or mailed to Customer Service - information at the bottom of this page. There is no charge for this service. Waste Tire Collection The City provides a courtesy tire collection service for non commercial residents. Residents can call customer service to schedule up to four (4) tires to be removed on their refuse collection day. The tires can be placed behind their automated carts. There is a maximum of four (4) tires for every three months, with no charge for this service. Christmas Tree Collection Please place your Christmas tree out on your regular service day and City staff will pickup the tree. Residential Service Charges & Penalties Cart Replacement Fee In the event that a customer requests that an automated cart be replaced due to willful negligence or destruction, the customer may be charged a $74.75 replacement fee for each cart. Contamination Penalty The first notification of contamination shall be by a red tag attached to the customer's contaminated container not serviced by the driver and a notification letter will also be sent by the department. The second notification shall be by a red tag attached to the customer's contaminated container not services by the route driver and a $25.00 fine. After the second red tag event the bin/cart will be picked up and service terminated.
