News Image Construction at Metrolink Station – Parking Displacement


On February 17, 2009, the City awarded a contract to Matich Corporation for the realignment of Viaduct Boulevard.  This project is part of the City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and is being completed to improve circulation in the vicinity of the Santa Fe Depot/La Placita development, and to prepare for the construction of a 350 space parking structure at the Metrolink station.

Street Closure Notice

On Wed. Feb. 18 and Thurs. Feb. 19 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.Caltrans and the contractor will be working on the bridge above Mill Street
on Wednesday and Thursday, February 18 and 19.  In order to do this work, they must close the east and westbound lanes of Mill Street between Crescent and "I".

I-215 Road Work

Caltrans will be conducting emergency roadwork due to the fires on October 13th on Interstate 215. The contractor will be working on the north and southbound sides of the freeway from Rialto Avenue to the Junction of I-215/SR-259.  Please Click Here for all the information.

Economic Development Agency

Fred T. Perris

Christina Perris will discuss the colorful life of pioneer, Fred T. Perris, whose accomplishments included bringing the California Southern (now known as the Burlington Northern Santa Fe) Railroad into San Bernardino.  This event will be held on Thursday, July 3, 7:00 PM at the San Bernardino Historical Society.

Dr. James A. Sandos will talk about the history of the California Missions and their impact on the Indians they tried to convert. This is the subject of Sandos's new book, "Converting California".  This event will be held on Thursday, June 5, 7:00 PM at the San Bernardino Historical Society.


HISTORIC TOUR: TAIL OF THE KITE
Mark Landis will lead us on this tour. This tour is of multiple railroad routes. We will be focusing on the part from San Bernardino to the east. Some of the tracks, stations, and packing houses are still in existence.  The tour will be Saturday, May 3.

A SOJOURN THROUGH THE SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY: 1776 TO THE PRESENT

The course presented by Cal State San Bernardino will occur on Saturday, May 3, from 7:00 AM until 4:30 PM. The class will involve a vehicle caravan, some walking, and visiting many historic sites. PIONEER CEMETERY TOUR

On Saturday, April 12, 9:00 AM, Nick Cataldo will be leading a tour of historic "Pioneer Memorial Cemetery". We will meet at the Heritage House at 9:00 AM, and from there will begin our historic trek on the grounds where many prominent pioneers were laid to rest--including a group 1850's Mormon settlers who's remains were accidentally uncovered in 1989. NO PARKING ZONES - Street sweeping pilot program

Two street sweeping routes, Route 11 north of Belmont and west of Devils Canyon in Ward 5 and Route 31 north of the 210 freeway and east of Waterman in Ward 7 are the pilot program boundaries.  

No parking on the first and third Wednesday from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM for all streets in Sweeper Route 11.

No parking on the second and fourth Wednesday from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM on all streets Sweeper Route 31.
