The San Bernardino City Library Foundation Receives $5,000 Grant from Stater Bros. as San Bernardino Public Library Adds Overdrive eBook and eAudiobook Titles

SAN BERNARDINO, CA (FEBRUARY 8TH, 2018) - The San Bernardino City Library Foundation has received a $5,000 grant from Stater Bros. Charities on behalf of the San Bernardino Public Library (SBPL) to add new titles to its Overdrive eBook and eAudiobook collection.

SBPL cardholders can access the Overdrive content including best-selling, popular authors by going to the library website at http://www.sbpl.org or directly to http://sbpl.lib.overdrive.com .

“We are very grateful to Stater Bros. for its grant to benefit our patrons who enjoy our growing collection of eBook and eAudiobooks, especially as we’ve tied our record for most titles downloaded in a month in November,” said SBPL Director Ed Erjavek. “I’d encourage the public to try our eBooks and eAudiobooks if they aren’t already enjoying them.”

“Stater Bros. has always believed in not just doing business in the community but being part of the community,” said Nancy Negrette, Chairman and President for Stater Bros. Charities.  “We are proud to partner with the San Bernardino City Library Foundation to support their ongoing efforts to enhance education in the communities we serve.”

The grant was received after an application was submitted by Foundation Office Manager Stacy Potter.

The San Bernardino City Library Foundation sponsors SBPL’s Overdrive collection, including paying for its annual subscription and providing a monthly stipend for new materials in eBook and eAudiobook formats.

“The Foundation is very generous to make a significant expenditure to provide this resource to our patrons that we likely wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford,” said Erjavek. “It is a great example of volunteers stepping up for the benefit of the city’s residents.”
