Join the San Bernardino Public Library in celebrating the power of reading and early literacy on Tuesday, October 25 during Jumpstart’s Read for the Record. This year’s book, Maybe Something Beautiful by F. Isabel Campoy & Theresa Howell, is a story about a little girl named Mira who creates a mural with her neighborhood, revealing how even the smallest artists can accomplish something big. Readings of the book are planned at the City Libraries:
City Council Member Virginia Marquez will be a special guest reader for story time at the Rowe Branch Library on October 25 at 10:30 a.m. The book will also be read October 25 during story time at the Feldheym Central Library at 10:30 a.m. and at the Inghram Branch Library at story time at 4 p.m. The book will be read in Spanish at the family story time at the Feldheym Central Library on Tuesday, October 23 at 4 p.m.
Jumpstart’s Read for the Record brings together millions of people each year in classrooms, libraries, community centers, and homes across the US. This annual campaign was launched over a decade ago to highlight the importance of building early literacy and language skills for EVERY child, so that all children have the opportunity to enter kindergarten prepared to succeed.
