“GEM” Program Kicks Off at Cal State
The Growth, Excellence, and Maturity program (GEM) is a unique and intensive 11- day career exploration camp held each summer for low income at-risk teenagers aged 18-21. The program serves to divert young people from the influence of gangs and drugs to channel their energies and abilities in a positive direction. The program was initially started by retired Falcons football player now Lutheran pastor, Mr. O. Dennis Mims. The camp sessions are held on local college campuses.

Tax Credits 101 Workshop
The San Bernardino Valley Enterprise Zone is hosting a workshop titled "Tax Credits 101" for business owners on September 15 from 8 to 10 a.m. Come and learn about the federal and state tax credits that are available to business owners. Other topics to be discussed will include how to claim tax credits correctly, leveraging tax credits to grow your business, and understanding the various state and local incentives.

Improved Streetscapes to Help Guide People Downtown

With the Downtown Core Vision & Action Plan staging key commercial, transit, and entertainment centers throughout Downtown, the City of San Bernardino Economic Development Agency (EDA) along with its team of planning, lighting, landscape traffic engineering, and urban design professionals from AECOM, is developing an improved streetscape plan to help guide people Downtown.

Downtown San Bernardino Becomes a Harvest Market Every Week
Beginning May 5, a weekly event will take place in Court Street Square between D and E Street where food and music can be savored. "Harvest Market" will feature fresh produce, food vendors, and handmade crafts every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
