How to Start / Stop Service

Starting Service

You can request to start service by contacting our Customer Service staff at (909) 384-5095 or by visiting our Customer Service office at 1350 S. 'E' Street, San Bernardino, CA 92408, during normal business hours. Our office and call center is open Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Please note: In order to process and approve your application for water service,  a  non-refundable $25 administrative fee will be applied to the first bill pursuant to water department Rule and Regulation no. 10. In addition to the administrative fee, a valid picture ID will be required when starting services for all accounts. All applicants must have owner authorization to begin service. Account deposits are required and must be quoted by SBMWD Customer Service staff. Please contact Customer Service for a full list of required items to start service and deposit quote. Deposits are refunded to the account after 24 consecutive months of good pay history as indicated by water department Rule and Regulation no. 8.

Stopping Service

You can request to stop service by contacting our Customer Service staff at (909) 384-5095 or by visiting our Customer Service office at 1350 S. 'E' Street, San Bernardino, CA 92408, during normal business hours. Our office and call center is open Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please allow 48 hours (not including weekends or holidays) from the date of change request for processing and updates to the account. Accounts are not closed, transferred, or re-opened automatically. It is the responsibility of the account holder to notify Customer Service to discontinue services.
