City recognizes Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solution Grants (ESG) fund recipients

The City of San Bernardino (City) continues to allocate and award funds for public service programs towards stronger and more resilient communities, awarding its 2023 – 2024 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program recipients.

The City’s CDBG program can fund eligible community and economic development projects and programs. Eligible activities must meet one of the following national objectives:

1) principally benefit low-and moderate-income persons, 2) eliminate slums and blight, and 3) meet an urgent need.

The City’ ESG program focuses on addressing the needs of homeless residents in emergency or transitional shelters to assisting people to quickly regain stability in permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis and/or homelessness.

Both CDBG and ESG programs are funded from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for housing and community development.
