2022-57202 Two Arrested in Attempt Murder & Robbery Case in San Bernardino

On May 24, 2022, at about 11:41 am, the San Bernardino Police call center received a 911 call regarding a shooting. Officers responded and found the shooting was related to a robbery that occurred at a business located in the 300 block of W. Baseline Street. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit responded and conducted an investigation. Two suspects were positively identified as the suspects involved in the robbery and shooting. Welch was taken into custody by patrol officers shortly after the crime was committed, and Jenkins-Welch was able to evade capture at the time; however, he was later arrested by patrol officers during a traffic stop conducted on May 29, 2022. During the investigation, detectives found that Jenkins-Welch was wanted for attempt murder and other crimes in Northern California. It is believed the suspects traveled to San Bernardino by vehicle and may have been involved in additional crimes during their travels across the state.
