Posted on May 25, 2022

The annual Summer Reading program (SRP) at the San Bernardino Public Library begins on Monday, June 6th and runs through Aug. 6th.

This year's theme is "Read Beyond the Beaten Path," which encourages skill development and exploration, both in books and outdoors.

SRP is open to all ages, from infants to seniors.

Sign-up at sbpl.beanstack.org to share book reviews and earn prizes and entries toward the grand prize raffle at the end!

Each library is hosting a special program to celebrate the start of SRP:

  • Feldheym (555 W. Sixth St.) Joe Gandelman (ventriloquist) Tuesday June 7 at 5 p.m.
  • Inghram (1505 W. Highland Ave.) Arty Loon (magician) Tuesday, June 14at 5:30 p.m.
  • Rowe (108 E. Marshall Blvd.) David Skale (magician) Tuesday, June 7 at 6 p.m.
  • Villaseñor (525 N. Mt. Vernon Ave.)  Christopher Yates (storyteller/artist) on Monday, June 6 at 6 p.m.

Our Summer Reading Program is sponsored by the Friends of the San Bernardino Public Library.

Children, teens, and adults will earn online badges by keeping track of minutes. Each badge earned will give you an entry into the prize drawing at the end of the summer reading program. Teens and adults will also be able to write online reviews of the books they read to earn extra prize entries.

Patrons are encouraged to go online to register at sbpl.beanstack.org or on the Beanstack app. Enter all the required fields to setup your account (as an individual or a family!) to track your reading minutes and earn online badges and online Grand Prize entry tickets.

Grand prizes will be awarded at the completion of the program in early August. Drawings will be held at each library and winners will be notified. For more information, call the library at 909-381-8250.
