San Bernardino, Calif. – 2 drivers were arrested for Driving Under the Influence and 39 citations were issued at a DUI Checkpoint on August 29, 2024.
The DUI checkpoint was held at the 400 block of E. 9th Street from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
• 29 drivers cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license.
• 10 drivers cited for miscellaneous vehicle code violations.
• 346 vehicles were contacted during the checkpoint.
• 10 vehicles were impounded.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related collisions. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
